Introduction

The Maine Farm & Sea to Institution Network and our many partners are thrilled to announce the return of the Maine Farm & Sea to Institution Summit!  Thank you for your interest in helping to create an impactful, change-making event.

Overarching Goals:

  • Showcase innovations, proven practices, and success stories that advance institutional procurement of locally and regionally produced food.n text goes here

  • Build stronger working relationships among farmers, fishers, food producers, institutions, and advocates to support long-term coordination across the state and region.

  • Create a space for participants to share knowledge, access practical tools and resources, and build partnerships that advance sustainable Farm & Sea to Institution efforts.

  • Strengthen community leadership in Farm to Institution efforts, elevate underrepresented voices, and foster shared learning and dialogue to build a food system that works for everyone.


Session Proposal Overview

We are now accepting session proposals on a rolling basis through July 15, 2025.

Proposal Formats

We welcome a variety of session formats, including:

  • Presentation (1–2 presenters)

  • Panel discussion (2–3 presenters with a moderator)

  • Interactive workshop

  • Roundtable discussion

  • Facilitated networking meeting

  • Culinary demonstration

Sessions should aim to be as engaging and participatory as possible. Please plan to reserve at least 10–15 minutes for questions and discussion.

Each session is allotted a maximum of 1 hour and 15 minutes (1.25 hours).

Selection Criteria: 

The Steering Committee will use the following criteria to select sessions.
In addition to the criteria listed, final selections will aim for balance across sectors, topics, and participant experience levels.
