MFS2N is made up of diverse supporting groups including the Maine School Garden Network, FoodCorps Maine, Let’s Go!, Maine Agriculture in the Classroom, UMaine Cooperative Extension, and Maine Departments of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry and Education. MEFTI is supported by MFS2N, Health Care Without Harm, Healthy Acadia, Healthy Communities of the Capital Area, and Maine Network of Community Food Councils, with ties to Farm to Institution New England (FINE).
Sponsorship will not only help make this event possible but will also give you exposure to key farm to institution stakeholders so they can better understand how you can work with them to support the farm to institution movement in Maine.
The Summit will include:
- Presentations by dozens of farm to institution practitioners working in K-12 Schools, Health Care, Higher Education, Correctional Institutions and other food-serving institutions around Maine.
- Local foods lunch
- One hundred and fifty attendees who will share best practices and learn about school gardens, fisheries, local procurement for cafeteria meals, food and farm education, and public policies that support the farm to institution movement.
